Designing for justice

/ 6 June 2019

I’m really grateful to Nate for pointing me to this powerful slide deck on design for justice. It’s from a presentation that Dr. Sasha Costanza-Chock from MIT gave at the EYEO festival recently held here in Minnesota. I wish I’d been aware of it in time to go!

Among other useful tidbits found therein, are the design principles for justice, information about designing a code jam, a report on a group of people doing tech for justice, notes about the allied media conference in a youtube video compilation, a powerful paper on “Design Justice: towards an intersectional feminist framework for design theory and practice”, and information about “digital defense” for ordinary folk.

What a rich and interesting presentation! I know I’m going to be looking to follow Dr. Castanza-Chock’s work from here on out.
