From protest to power

/ 21 January 2017

Toronto City Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam spoke passionately today at the Women’s March: Toronto about the need to take this amazing outpouring of women and men, standing up to Trump, and turn it into real power. She asked us to think about what we are going to do tomorrow, not just today. She pointed to a number of very important issues facing women in Toronto, and it got me thinking about what my own actions ought to be.

I intend to continue to work on transformative learning, and dialogues that lead to change.

I intend to support Erin Murphy for Governor of MN, and worthy candidates for other local offices.

I also will follow the American Values, Religious Voices campaign, which will offer one letter each day of the first 100 days of the Trump Administration. These letters are based deeply in the religious convictions of diverse communities and offer an opportunity to learn from and with each other about how to move into a more just and peaceful future. The campaign starts today!

But for today? I’m simply loving the pictures that are pouring in from around the world.
