The video is a brief introduction to the work of Dr. Derald Wing Sue, a professor at Columbia University. He offers five steps that we can all take to move beyond the damage micro aggression can cause — much of which is unintentional on the part of those who are exhibiting it:
- practice constant vigilance
- respect and be aware of experiential reality
- don't be defensive
- be open to discussing your own attitudes and biases
- be an ally </ul>
