Closed captioning in church services
I think this is pretty cool! A church out here in Seattle (New Life Church), has struggled to figure out how to support people with hearing impairments. They’ve tried ASL, but not everyone is fluent in ASL — not to mention, it can be extraordinarily expensive. With the advent of mobile digital devices, however, they’ve found a way to use Skype to link up with a closed captioning service and offer it to their congregants. Here’s one reason why they worked so hard to make this happen:
