What kind of Asian are you?
We’re having rich discussions in my class at SFTS this week, sparked in part by Willie Jennings’ book The Christian Imagination: Theology and the Origins of Race. Six of my eleven students have some connections to Korea, however, so I have been searching for pieces that might get at issues of more immediacy for them.
I saw this piece a while back, but when I went to share it with my class, couldn’t lay my hands on it again. A HUGE hat tip to Nate for pointing me to it.
Then, I’m particularly looking forward to later this week, when my class gets to have lunch with Bruce Reyes-Chow, whose latest book — But I don’t see you as Asian: Curating Conversations About Race — just came out.
