Hope in the midst of repentence and reflection

This video seems an appropriate piece of reflection for Ash Wednesday. Maddox is the beloved son of Tony Fair, who passed into eternal life this past December. Tony was an amazing and life-filled, faith-filled student at Luther. I still grieve his death, and this piece brings tears to my eyes — both of sadness, but also of joy for the faith Tony brought to our community, and which clearly flows through his sons as well. No matter our pain, anxiety and uncertainty about the future, God is present with us — even unto and beyond our death.
