Thinking about github and rootstrikers
I’ve written in here before about two of my favorite societal observers — Clay Shirky and Lawrence Lessig. Today I was watching a recent TED video that Shirky did, in which he talks about the potential opportunity a distributed version control program like github might offer for the development of a more robust democracy, and it occurred to me: what if the concerns that Lessig is raising in Republic, Lost and at Rootstrikers.org could be paired with the organizing ingenuity that Shirky is talking about?
