Great study guide for engaging pop culture in religious education
I have to say that there are times when I really get jazzed while grading — not often, but there are times — and this is one of them. One of my students, Brian Jack, turned in a truly excellent guide to creating TV/Movie Bible study guides. (It’s freely available via Feautor.) Brian created a concise, deeply thoughtful, and truly helpful guide full of his rationale and principles for creating this kind of Bible study, and then offered a detailed and very well-done example drawing on an episode of Futurama. I realize that publishing companies can’t possibly afford to hire people to write such materials given how rapidly popular culture shifts, but if they could, I’d recommend that they invite Brian to write for them. The good news is that you can access his work easily and for free via Feautor.
