Know your farmer

/ 21 May 2011

One of the things we are consistently told, when I take my classes down to southwestern MN, is that it’s important to get to know your farmers. When you think of how much time you spend finding a dentist, or choosing a school for your child, wouldn’t you also want to know about who is raising the food that you eat? It’s a little easier when you’re buying local food, but what about national brands? So I was really excited to see that King Arthur Flour — a company whose flour I enjoy, and whose baking blog I read regularly — has produced a series of videos about the farmers who grow the wheat which is made into King Arthur Flour. Very cool!
