DADT ruled unconstitutional

/ 11 September 2010

So I’m way behind on my news reading, and went from one meeting to the next, yesterday. Which means I somehow missed that a federal judge has ruled that the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy of the military is unconstitutional. I know there will be many people who are deeply distressed by this, but just for a moment I want to bask in the joy and celebration I feel. It’s yet another step in the long, slow process of recognizing the civil rights of gays and lesbians.
