Moments of beauty, moments of transcendence
Thomas Merton wrote once about feeling a sense of transcendent connection to everyone and everything while standing on a busy street corner. I think this video, which TheDailyDish posted as a “mental health break” might be a moment like that for me. Andrew Sullivan noted that Jonah Lehrer had passed it on by suggesting that “at first glance, it’s a mere collection of ordinary moments - a falling teardrop, an escaped balloon, a dive into a pool - but I think it’s also evidence that the things we see everyday, when carefully framed, can ache with ignored beauty.”
