RIP John Hope Franklin

I’m a couple of days behind on blogging, but I can’t let pass the death of John Hope Franklin. I remember the first time I read his work, long ago and far away in an American Studies undergraduate class. It opened up a whole world of which I had been deeply ignorant and drew me into the study of history in a way I had never imagined could be so interesting.
