The stuff of learning organizations

Fernando’sDesk points to a recent piece on creativity at Pixar from the Harvard Business Review, and notes three key organizational principles from their work:

1. Everyone must have the freedom to communicate with anyone2. It must be safe for everyone to offer ideas.3. We must stay close to innovations happening in the academic community.

I think these are excellent principles for learning community more generally, and I wish — and hope and am working — for a time when the church feels it needs to stay close to the academic community (particularly that of the seminary) and vice versa.
