UCC President’s statement

Here’s the Rev. John Thomas’ statement (he’s the general minister and president of the United Church of Christ) on the whole Trinity Church/Jeremiah Wright controversy. I’m guessing that the UCC is going to reap a whole lot of new members from this public discussion (much as they did from their “God is still speaking” campaign). There are many people in this country who are looking for ways to take the bible seriously, just not simplistically or literally.
