Condi’s headline

Headline tonight on the Austrian state television news:

"Iran-poker geht weider"

Accompanied by a large headshot of Condi Rice (and then a much longer story).

As far as I can make out, that's something like "the poker game with Iran goes on," or perhaps "goes again." I can't tell you how disturbing the European news media is, in reporting the impending war with Iran. Yes, that's Iran, not Iraq. I sure hope there's coverage of this in the US. The IAEA is located here in Vienna, and there was just a big meeting about Iran's nuclear program. It seems clear, at least from this vantage point, that Bush&Co. are once again trying to "spin" the intelligence. Given that Iran really does have nuclear capabilities, the last thing we need right now is ideologically driven spin.

I feel like we need prayer more than ever...

And people need to read international papers!
