Bush’s speech

/ 11 January 2007

It’s gotten so that I can’t even bring myself to listen to Bush anymore. We need to be in the streets protesting — and various groups have organized such demonstrations for today, Thursday. Go to the web to find out when and where. If you can’t do that much, at least read Juan Cole’s analysis of what’s going on. Sending more troops into the kind of situation that currently exists in Iraq will only inflame things more, not help to settle them down. We need, as many organizations are pointing out, a PEACE surge, not a military one. Here’s a statement by a group of national Catholic leaders.

Pray for peace as actively as you can!
