Holiday ideas

This time of year can be filled to the brim with consumer needs — kids seeing commercials that tell them what Santa should bring, office mates exchanging gifts beyond their means, etc. etc. The New American Dream site has put together a wonderful holiday survival kit chock full of useful tips. The site is not explicitly religious, but the ideas are wonderful and definitely worth checking out. One essay they point to, in particular, is this one about ritual. It’s written from a UU standpoint, but translates well into other faith traditions.
