Being held by truth

Christian Scharen has a nice summary of some of the discussion at the recent emergent conference at Yale. This post explores some of Miroslav Volf’s work on “exclusion and embrace,” and talks about the ways we “are held by” truth, as opposed to “holding” truth. Given that today I’m working with Parker Palmer’s book To know as we are known, in one class, and tomorrow with Kegan’s work on deconstructive criticism, a lot of these ideas are swirling around inside of me.
