Pray for peace, and for CPT

This is the third sunday of Advent, “gaudete” or “joy” sunday. A time for many communities to sing the “lessons and carols,” for others to decorate their churches and homes in anticipation of Christmas. Today I find myself praying deeply for peace, and particularly for the Christian peacemaking team that has been abducted in Iraq. There’s been a quite extraordinary outpouring of support for them, a miracle in itself. Sojourners has been the focus of some of it, but the Christian Peacemaker Teams’ site is probably the best place to go.
