Petition to investigate torture allegations

/ 4 December 2005

The Ignacio Martin-Baro fund is circulating two important petitions — one to Congress, and one to the American Psychological Association — in which they urge the US to abide by the Geneva Conventions, and to investigate allegations that mental health practitioners may have been involved in torturing prisoners (a direct violation of the APA’s code of ethical conduct). These are important petitions, and you can sign both of them without being a member of the APA — although if you, please note that.

Also, for ongoing coverage of the issues, I highly recommend the weblog, BodyandSoul, which is doing a fabulous job of linking to and commenting upon a range of publications investigating the issues.
