Fourth day in Faverges

/ 9 September 2005

Today we started with quite a stimulating presentation by Rogate Mshana, talking about the differences between neo-liberal capitalist understandings of intellectual property, and more communitarian approaches. We also heard from I-to Loh, a musician and professor and composer from Taiwan; Jean-Alain MoussiƩ, the publishing services coordinator at the international level of the United Bible Societies; Christian Laux, from the Creative Commons here in Switzerland; and we read a paper by Samson Prabakhar, who was too ill to attend.

I'm tired today, and really wanting to be home. I can't help thinking that an open source site for worship materials (like the open source religious ed site I keep dreaming about) would be a great thing that would ease some of the challenges being discussed here.
