Mapping casualties
I’m not yet sure what to make of this map, but given all of the electoral mapping that went on in the wake of the last national election, here is a fascinating map of US fatalities in Iraq (as of August 1). Of course, it doesn’t map casualties that weren’t fatal (and there are tens of thousands of those).

Alice Maung-Mercurio commented on 31 August 2005:For the most part, the map seems representative of population centers (amount of deaths roughly correlate higher numbers of deaths in areas of higher population); except for Houston and Dallas(!!) - Compared with Minneapolis, it looks like the number of deaths is higher "per capita." What else do you see, anybody?
