Nine more women ordained

Nine more Roman Catholic women were ordained on Monday — four as priests, five as deacons — on the St. Lawrence Seaway (and thus not in a geographic area under the clear control of a specific archbishop). One of them is Regina Nicolosi, a woman who lives here in Red Wing, MN, and who was ordained a deacon. Like my mother-in-law, these women will likely face excommunication for this actions, but also like my mother-in-law, they bring enormous hope and energy to those of us who have the opportunity to pray and celebrate with them.
