Emergent church and race

Whatever you might think of the “emergent church” notion, it’s heartening to me that there are conversations going on within that space — at least within the discursive terrain of emergent church in the blogosphere — that engage race issues directly. Here’s one, which also attracted a number of comments. Something good is happening when people are able to talk about these issues. I’m hopeful that a similar discussion will happen here at this meeting (CTSA) later this weekend, because there are some papers on the schedule that at least hint at the possibility.
