Mars Hill Graduate School
I have to admit, reading the description of the Mars Hill Graduate School evokes a huge yearning in me. I suspect that the reality is different from the perception one gets from reading the website (obviously website writers always seek to the best face forward), but just the ability to focus on drawing from the cultural surround as it appears they do makes me pretty envious… What would our school be able to do if we could liberate our imagination in these ways? Just think of what would be possible!

Tom commented on 11 July 2005:Just thought you should know that as a student at Mars Hill, the website underestimates the focus we have on being good students of the culture. We are trained well in cultural trends and philosophies, but more than that we are taught how to live well in community with one another, asking the question of ourselves, "How do we 'be'? How can who we are come to have a healing impact on the darkenss we encounter?" They are difficult questions with even more difficult answers.
Anyway, glad the website provoked a yearning in you. I've found the website to be as accurate depiction of Mars Hill life as one would find - for proof check out the student journals on the prospective student page.
In what ways will you try to evoke some cultural engagement at your school?
