Off net, now back on

/ 23 January 2005

So this whole past few days I've pretty much been "off net." The kids and I were home sick, fighting the cold virus that's been running around their schools, and I've pretty much been hibernating. My favorite thing to do when hibernating is to read novels, so that's what I've been up to. I just finished a wonderful new novel by author Tony Lorenzen. It's called "St. Somebody's" and tells the interconnected stories of a progressive Catholic high school teacher and his inner city Boston students. It had me laughing out loud, and also crying at times, and repeatedly highlighting sentences that I wanted to share with friends. For example, "The short answer is God, the details... Christ."

Where can you find this novel? Well, that's the tough part. I was lucky enough to receive a copy because long, long ago in the dark ages of my past I went to Harvard Divinity School with Tony. He recently looked me up and sent the novel to me for feedback. Now I'm eager to find someone to publish it, because I'd love to share it with friends, not to mention use it in some of my classes. So if you know anyone with networks into publishing, let them know there's a great new novel out there just waiting to make some money for them.
