Our greed, their deaths

/ 6 December 2004

Oxfam is trying to alert the world’s wealthiest countries to our shared responsibility to the most vulnerable children in the world. According to their estimates, 45 million children will die in the next decade in ways directly attributable to our lack of assistance.

"Despite the fact that Group of Seven (G7) countries Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Britain, the United States, and Canada are richer than they have ever been, they are spending only half as much in real terms in development assistance as they did in 1960."
