Too busy to blog

Ach… this has been a crazy busy week so far! I’m deep into planning for a full day workshop that my colleague Dick Nysse and I are going to do at the SBL meeting later this week (suggestions welcome!). I’m drowning in student project grading (which, while difficult, is actually exciting due to the quality of the projects students have turned in). And I’m trying to finish writing an entry for an encyclopedia. Is it possible that I’m using this degree of busy-ness to distract me from the awful news in the world around us? Yep. Lately the prayer that keeps coming to my lips is from a Marty Haugen song version of Psalm 23: “shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.”
