Help apologize for torture

/ 16 June 2004

I’m not convinced that apologies are the only thing we need to do in relation to the torture that has been done in our name, but it’s a very good place to begin. FaithfulAmerica.org, a faith-based organization working on building a constituency on behalf of the common good, has begun a campaign to raise money to air a television ad on Arab television that expresses our sorrow and apologies. You can endorse the ad for free — and they are counting the number of people to add that number to the ad — or you can donate funds and endorse. Even $5 can help. Then visit the Center for the Victims of Torture and make an even more tangible apology there.
