Sign petition against torture

Moveon.org is hosting a petition drive to ask the US for an immediate, independent, impartial and public investigation of all allegations of torture in Iraq. Please sign on to their petition! Then take a moment to visit the Center for the Victims of Torture (either on the web, or here in St. Paul) and support their work. Back in October I was at a lecture where their director, Douglas Johnson, spoke about the pressure to use “coercive” tactics in interrogation, and how that is actually torture. I am horrified by the reports coming out of Iraq, but sadly, not surprised. We really need to stand up for what our country believes in, and take it back. We ought not to be using such tactics!
