Alex’s birthday party

Ah… quiet at last! We had a pretty loud, but also quite fun, birthday party at our house this afternoon. Alex had decided upon a musical theme, and so he set up the keyboard with GarageBand in one part of the house, and a computer hooked to iTunes in another. His three friends got to pick their favorite song from iTunes, which we then burned on a cd for them. They also created a piece of music together using GarageBand. Alex had written some music trivia games (name that tune — mostly movie soundtracks — and some music facts), and we baked a cake which Eric decorated with musical notation. All in all, not a bad day’s work. I admit to being completely exhausted, however, and somewhat shocked that Alex could be 12 years old already, let alone writing music with his friends.
