David Weinberger points off to an interesting essay by Terry Heaton that considers news as “conversation” rather than a lecture, or a “squawk,” or something else again. He is drawing on, among other things, the Cluetrain Manifesto and the experience of bloggers. I think it’s something to attend to, and a possible sign of hope in the midst of all the commercial monopoly practices of news these days.
