Spam commenting on blogs…

I’ve been blessed so far with a manageable amount of spam in my e-mail, but the last few weeks I’ve been appalled to discover that spam extends into commenting on blogs. I’m not sure why I didn’t expect this, but I have been surprised and disappointed at the ads for Viagra and other nuisances that are being sent as comments to this weblog. I just discovered that there is a shareware spam-filter for Moveable Type weblogs, and I think I’m going to try and install it. It’s called MT-Blacklist, and David Weinberger helped me find it (he notes his thanks to Jay Allen for writing it).
