THIS Obedience

I haven’t seen this film yet, but I hear it’s powerful. It’s a documentary about the ordination of a woman in a committed partnership with another woman, a woman ordained by a local Lutheran congregation here in St. Paul. That congregation was subsequently subject to censure by the synod, but has grown into an identity as a strong, justice-seeking faith community. And I love the title! I think we could be thinking a bit more about “THIS” obedience, as a form of ecclesiastical disobedience.
