Take Back Your Time Day

Tomorrow’s Professor listserv (a great resource in itself), led me to Paul Loeb’s essay “Time to Act,” which focuses on the “lightspeed” at which we are living our lives. That essay, in turn, is part of an effort to celebrate “Take Back Your Time Day” (October 24). More and more I’m convinced that we need to find ways to do precisely this — take back our lives from the tyranny of “rush” that seems to permeate everything. I’ve said for years that advocating for a 20 hour work week might be a great place to start. But maybe even just one day of slowing down would help…
