I got back late yesterday from a day spent with the lively folk of the Center for Educational Ministry in the Parish, an organization that is part of Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. They invited me in just for the day to explore media and ministry issues. It’s always such a challenge to work on huge issues in a short span of time, but I guess that’s my particular challenge this summer (given that my course last week felt that way, too!). It’s exciting for me to find people within communities of faith who are willing to engage media culture seriously as a theological resource, and I take away from the day a clear sense of the need to keep working on these issues. People are so hungry for ways to think deeply about them!
