Where the embedded reporters are…

/ 30 March 2003

Surfing around the web tonight I ran into an interesting map at the Poynteronline.org site, where you can see which reporters are embedded with which units (and approximately where they are, although I’m sure it’s not all that accurate). The Poynter site in general is fascinating, as they are a central gathering place for professional journalists.

Yet even as I write this, I wonder to myself — why is this interesting? And why do I care? On some level it simply points out, yet again, that while there is a lot of information available on the web, finding a use for it is more difficult.
