Two poets in conversation

/ 26 February 2013

I loved Richard Blanco’s poem at the Inauguration this year, and have just stumbled upon a conversation that Yale hosted between Blanco and Elizabeth Alexander (the 2008 inaugural poet). It’s a long piece, but definitely worth listening to while you’re driving or cooking. I’m convinced that poetry is a form of speaking truth that is at once utterly specific and yet also potentially universal. We have much to learn from poets as we seek to engage truth in our wider contexts!
