Performers for Peace

/ 23 April 2009

Our son Alex goes to an amazing local public high school, the Avalon School. It’s a project-based learning school, and one of the graduation requirements is for seniors to do a senior project. One of his classmates, Katie Korpi, has worked on the following:

This concert is a part of my senior project at Avalon High School. We do a 300-hour project for our senior year about something that we feel passionate about, which is why I've chosen to learn about music and writing songs while supporting and promoting peace. The Performers for Peace concert is a final product of this project and of what I've learned over the course of this year.

If you live near the Twin Cities, consider coming to this concert which is on Friday evening, May 8th at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP (there's a link on that website), because it's a small venue. The suggested donation is 5$ for students and 8$ for adults, with proceeds going to a variety of peace-promoting organizations.
