/ 24 March 2008

Almost exactly a year ago, as we were settling into Vienna, I remember writing about the ways in which European newspapers were fairly certain that the US war with Iran was imminent. There have been points since then when the fear was raised again, but for the last couple of months it has seemed to recede. Apparently I wasn’t reading the international signs well! Here is a lengthy essay by William Polk which points to several reasons why war with Iran may yet be a very real horror.
