Pride and palpitations

Thanks to DailyKos for linking to this vivid description of watching Obama’s speech after the Iowa caucuses. The post reminds me of the hopefulness you can feel in the air — and the nagging fear. I am praying and hoping that we can find ways to live into our hopes and beyond our fears. There’s a powerful line in one of my favorite songs that goes something like “shepherd me O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life” and that’s what I’m praying now!
