Racism persists…
Oh, my heart aches… Reading this story, of the experiences of a current student at Yale, brought back all sorts of memories I have of similar stories my friends told when I was a student at Yale — more than 20 years ago. I want to believe that things can change, that anti-racist educators are making a difference, that Yale can grow. But stories like this remind me of how persistent and structurally embedded racism is, and how self-replicating it is.
