Niche social networking

There’s an interesting piece in the NYTimes today about social networking sites (think MySpace and Facebook) that are geared to specific religious communities. I’m not entirely sure this is a good idea — particularly given how easy it is for one “brand” of Christians, for instance, to curtail the speech of another. But regardless of whether I’d join such a site, I still think it’s a fascinating development worth following.
