Hurray for Crosswinds!

/ 10 January 2006

I just got back from an evening meeting in which the faculty and administrative leaders from Crosswinds (my eldest son’s school) explained their ninth and tenth grade program. Crosswinds is a middle years IB program, and I have been consistently impressed by their 6th through 8th grade programming. Tonight I was blown away by their high school! I even found myself wishing I could do high school over, just to be able to be part of this kind of learning community.

Among other things, this public school is taking very seriously the research on best practices for high school learning, and has developed a program that aims to embody each one. I am so proud of this place! And so pleased that Alex is a student learner there. And so encouraged that public education can retain this degree of excellence and innovation.
