Tracy Chapman’s “Change”

/ 14 August 2005

Thanks to TheCorner for a lovely and very thoughtful post which led me to, amongst other ponderings, a beautiful new song by Tracy Chapman called “Change.” I think today is my day for finding things on the web that help me to reflect upon scripture. Bob’s post provides powerful chords to resonate with Mary’s sermon, and brings me back again to pondering what Matthew was trying to convey by sharing the story of Jesus’s response to the Canaanite woman.

From the blog:

"Hospitality is the virtue which allows us to break through the narrowness of our own fears and to open our houses to the stranger, with the intuition that salvation comes to us in the form of a tired traveler."

From the song:

"If you saw the face of God and Love,/Would you change? Would you change?"
