Still no snow…

/ 20 December 2004

Some people have problems with lack of sunlight in the winter (I have one friend who lives with SAD), but increasingly I am aware of how much trouble I have with no snow. It’s been bitterly cold here in Minnesota (regularly below zero with wind chills), but we HAVE NO SNOW. My whole system is discombobulated. Without snow it doesn’t feel like Advent. Without snow I don’t expect it to be so cold (indeed, some of our lawn still has tinges of green in it). Without snow it just doesn’t feel right. I just heard on the radio that the whole east coast is being hit with a winter storm today. I surely do not want people to be caught in bad traffic, or to have fender benders, and so on. But gosh, I wish WE were getting that snow! What is Minnesota without a snowy Christmas?
