Jon Stewart on Crossfire

/ 16 October 2004

Thanks to Lessig’s blog for pointing me off to a stream of Jon Stewart’s appearance on CNN’s Crossfire. It was fascinating, because rather than trying to be the comedian he is on his show — which is generally always brilliant and worth watching — Stewart chose to be quite sincere and serious, and tried to get the two hosts of Crossfire to take some responsibility for the way in which they’ve shaped their show as theater rather than honest debate. It’s a fascinating interview, and interesting to see how difficult it is for the hosts to be asked serious questions. Kudos to Stewart!
