From the blogosphere

/ 30 March 2004

I am once again deeply stuck in my writing project, and so, of course!, I’m running off to the web to see what other interesting things might distract me. Two, in particular, on the theme of “we can be better together” caught my attention this afternoon. Rev. Byron Williams, pastor of Resurrection Community Church, calls his fellow African-American pastors to task for endorsing Bush’s hate speech on marriage, rather than seeing how connected this particular struggle is to previous civil rights struggles. And Lawrence Lessig laments the ways in which Kerry’s campaign seems to be one issue after another, rather than a common call (yes, like Dean’s!) to get back to basic American values that oppose corruption and see government as helping us all to contribute to the common good. We can do more together than we can do apart, and the America I love and respect has done so in the past and can do so again in the future!
