Gnetwork

/ 5 March 2004

It’s starting to happen: Deaniacs all over the country are getting up from our grief, and moving on. Lots of energy is beginning to coalesce around finding ways to support grassroots organizing while maintaining local autonomy. One group worth staying involved with: the GNetwork (or the grassroots national network). I kind of like the name, because it also plays off of “gnu” and other netly things. And I’m more convinced than ever that it’s time for all of us — but perhaps especially people my age — to step up to the plate and start taking an active role in the political process. We’ve left it in other people’s hands for far too long, and now it will take some real effort to wrest it back. The good news? It will also be a lot of fun!
