Marriage constitutional amendment could be dead on arrival

/ 28 February 2004

I’m not sure I’m ready to be optimistic about this yet, but a reader on the dailyKos blog has scoured voting records and public statements to try and figure out where the Senate is on the Musgrave amendment (this is the one that would declare marriage could only be between a man and a woman, and would prohibit civil union benefits). He believes that the amendment wouldn’t make it out of the Senate.
